Firefighting snake robot, invented by SINTEF in 2008

Our friends at SINTEF in Norway made a few years ago a really impressive job in developing a fire-hose robot, or as they call it a Firefighting snake robot. The firefighting snake robot is basically a very though-provoking invention showing us all that there are substantial room for improvement when it comes to the very new innovative tools used for firefighting.

Have a look at SINTEF’s Snake Robot page and do not miss the video showing the robot in a demo setting.
