Erna Danielsson at the Mid-University in Sweden together with Aida Alvinius and Gerry Larsson at the National Defense College has written a great article that further expands and contributes to the vibrant discussion of the relation between common operating picture, sense making and situational awareness. Specifically, the paper provides excellent empirical accounts that uncover and make visible how situational awareness is achieved and how SA is influenced by organizational belonging, role and occupationally specific knowledge.
